There is a huge variety of specialist wheel cleaners on the market such as "wonder wheels", all designed to help make the job of cleaning your new rims that little bit easier, we do not reccomend the use of these cleansers as they are nothing more than a mild acid which will attack the finish of your wheels after a period of time.
Where possible let your wheels cool thoroughly before cleaning them and avoid car-wash wheel-cleaners at all times.
Frequent washing with mild soapy warm water and a soft bristle wheel brush is the best way to keep your wheels clean. Rinse all of the soapy water off using clean water and dry off using a lint free cloth. Do not allow the water to dry on the wheels as this will cause water spots. Never use abrasive cleansers, electric buffers or wire wool pads on your wheels.
Give them a coat of a good quality car polish once a month such as Auto Glym or Wizard products. This will help to prevent road salt, brake dust and dirt 'keying' to the surface. Be sure to treat the surface of your alloys as well, if not better, than you would your cars paintwork as they are going to be subject to the harshest of conditions of just about any part of the car!
For polished alloys, we give a special polished alloy lacquer on top of the
polished alloy to help protect them, but this still requires polishing with
a good quality car wax such as Auto Glym or wizard products.
